Confessions of a 80's Concert Junkie

I am still working on my blog challenge goal of 30 posts in 30 days.  So far I'm on challenge #20 and I started this approximately 390 days ago but who's counting?

Today, I have been tasked with listing all the concerts I have attended.  Now that is a challenge!  The majority of concerts attended in my lifetime happened during middle and high school and in my early 20's.  I still do see a concert occasionally, but usually with my daughter.  She's almost 15 so before long she will be seeing concerts without a parent chaperon.

I grew up Albuquerque, New Mexico which was always a stopping place for any major band so I definitely had plenty of opportunities to hear some great music.  I'm a child of the 80's --  the best decade EVER!  I listened to most of the regular hits of the decade...Hall & Oates, Rick Springfield, Human League, J. Geil's, John Mellencamp, The Police, Men at Work.....etc.

What most of my grown up friends don't know about me, is that back in the day I loved some serious metal bands -- hair, trash, glam and of course traditional.  I went to as many concerts as I could wearing some ridiculous outfits!  Anyone remember the girls from those ZZ Top Videos?

Today I still like my rock music but sometimes in the form of classical.  Ever heard of Vitamin C Quartet?  Add it to your play list on Pandora or I Heart Radio and you'll see what I'm talking about!

Today,  my play list on ITunes ranges anywhere from Motley Cru (their first recorded songs)  to Crowded House and maybe some Tom Jones in between.

With that said, the  first concert I went to  was Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.  Their opening band was Bow Wow Wow (I Like Candy).  I specifically remember the ticket costing $11.50.  The last concert I bought a ticket to was Bruno Mars and the price for that amazing show was around $85.00 a ticket.

Compiled here in no particular order is a listing of every concert I can remember attending in between Joan and Bruno......

Motley Cru (several times)
Ozzy Osbourne
Reo Speedwagon
